About us
From school, for school.
Prilog is developed by Leander Seyffer. He teaches computer science and eurythmy at a Waldorf school in Hamburg.
“with more than 35 years of experience in software development, it was natural to use what I can do to improve the things I experience in everyday school life; that is how Prilog came about”
My path
Leander Seyffer
My path into IT began during my apprenticeship as a plastics technologist. There I came into close contact with information technology and discovered my interest in how practical tasks can be solved with software. That turned into more than 35 years of software development. Another part of my path led me to study eurythmy. Today I teach computer science and eurythmy at a Waldorf school in Hamburg.
When the Rudolf Steiner Archive was digitised, I was able to combine my technical knowledge with this background. Working with historical documents showed me how important it is to index information carefully and keep it accessible in the long term.
At ImmobilienScout24 I gained experience in running a platform that many people rely on every day. For many years I also worked as a project developer at Limbas GmbH. There I delivered large projects, among others for Weleda, and helped develop the system further. Databases, document management and the workflows of different organisations were at the centre of this work.
As a freelancer I worked for banks, companies in the pharmaceutical industry and Swisscom, as well as for other clients in Germany, Switzerland and France. Security, data protection and reliable operation were part of my everyday craft.
Because I teach myself, I don't know school only from the outside, but from everyday life in the classroom and among the staff. Additional training in the school sector has broadened my view of it. In developing Prilog, it matters to me to listen closely: what helps teachers in their everyday work? What makes work in the school office easier? And what do parents need for a good exchange with the school?
In Prilog I bring these experiences together. My aim is reliable software that is based on how a school actually works and takes work off the people there. If you would like to know whether Prilog is right for your school, just get in touch with me.

What Prilog stands for
-
A person decides.
Prilog works out deadlines and plans in advance, sorts and reminds. Decisions about children and colleagues — a cover, a leave of absence, a meeting — are always made by someone at the school.
-
You may start small.
A school can begin with one area, such as parent-teacher conferences, and leave everything else as it is.
-
Honest about where things stand.
What is still in development is described as such — on the topic pages, in the manual and in the blog.
-
The data stays in Germany.
Prilog runs at Hetzner Online GmbH in German data centres, not with US providers.
From the blog
- Cover planning – a look inside a development →
On everyday school life, the workload of teachers and the many considerations that go into developing cover management.
- 16 federal states, 16 ideas of the class register →
Why a digital class register is allowed in every German federal state but the same in none – and why the smarter start is sometimes to keep the paper and only transfer the data needed for school reports.
