Timetable

A timetable that is considerate — and still gets finished.

Whether a child has maths in the sixth period, whether a part-time teacher can work in one block, when the sports hall is free: the timetable decides. Prilog helps you build it — by hand or with automatic scheduling — and change it carefully during the school year.

Weekly plan of class 5a in Prilog: main lesson, subject lessons, sub-groups and breaks over five days
A class’s weekly plan in Prilog — from our demo school with made-up names. At the top, a notice about a draft that is not yet in force.

What it often looks like today.

  • Every spring, the plan is made in a few heads and in a program that only one person can use.
  • Teachers’ wishes, room shortages and split groups are collected on slips of paper and get lost along the way.
  • After a change during the school year, the plan, the calendar and the noticeboard no longer match.

How Prilog helps.

  1. 1

A guide through the new school year

From an empty school year to a valid plan — with the class map “What’s still missing?” and a schedule working backwards from the holidays.

  2. 2

    Curriculum hours, split groups, blocks

Prilog knows subjects, teaching loads, rooms, split groups and lessons that only run for a few weeks.

  3. 3

    Must and wish

Fixed requirements are met, wishes are taken into account as far as possible. If something can’t be done, Prilog tells you why.

  4. 4

    By hand or automatically

You place lessons yourself or let automatic scheduling calculate a proposal, which you can then keep editing.

  5. 5

    Drafts and changes

During the school year, you change a single lesson or work with drafts before anything takes effect.

  6. 6

    One plan for everyone

Teachers, classes and rooms see their plan — from the same source, without a second list.

Cover planning: Prilog already builds the timetable today. We are currently working on cover planning — openly, step by step. What matters along the way is described on our blog under “Cover planning – insights into a development”.

What Prilog deliberately does not do

  • Prilog doesn’t promise a plan without compromises — it shows where each consideration costs room.
  • An automatic proposal is a proposal; a plan only takes effect once you release it.
  • We take over data from other timetabling programs by arrangement; there isn’t yet a ready-made import for every program.
