Safeguarding & crisis

A safeguarding concept that works when it matters — not one that just sits in a binder.

In several federal states, schools are now required to have a safeguarding concept against violence and sexualised violence. But a concept in a binder is of little help if nobody has time to look things up in an emergency. Prilog brings the concept, responsibilities and procedures to where the work happens.

What it often looks like today.

  • The safeguarding concept was written, filed away, and new colleagues don’t know it exists.
  • In a suspected case, it is unclear who needs to be informed and what has to be documented.
  • In an emergency, the phone chain runs over private mobiles — with no record of who knew what and when.

How Prilog helps.

  1. 1

    The concept as a workspace

The “Child safeguarding concept” template (add-on module) sets up a protected area: mission statement, risk assessment, responsibilities, training, case files.

  2. 2

    Clear responsibilities

Who is the contact person, who deputises, who shares in decisions? It is all in one place and easy to find for those authorised.

  3. 3

    Procedure for a suspected case

A defined procedure guides you step by step through a suspected case and records what was done.

  4. 4

    Triggering an emergency

A button on the computer, a deliberate gesture on the phone — and the stored scenario starts: crisis room, checklist, contacts.

  5. 5

    Everyone sees it

While a crisis is running, Prilog shows a clear notice to everyone signed in — wherever they are working.

  6. 6

    Follow-up report

Every step is logged; after the crisis, a follow-up report is produced.

Who is in the building right now? From the timetable, Prilog knows for every lesson which classes, with how many children, and which teachers are scheduled to be in the building — the basis for checking at the assembly point that everyone is there during a fire alarm, evacuation or other alarm. This view is coming with the next update.

What Prilog deliberately does not do

  • Prilog makes no professional judgements — it guides you through procedures, and responsibility stays with you.
  • Your school writes the safeguarding concept itself; Prilog gives it a form and a place.
  • Case files can only be seen by the people responsible for them.
